Volunteer with JAHA

Volunteers play a vital role in JAHA's programs, museums and events. There are a variety of ways you can be a part of what we do, including the following:

  • Become a volunteer docent with the Johnstown Flood Museum, Heritage Discovery Center or Wagner-Ritter House & Garden. Volunteers play a crucial role in helping us interpret our museums to visitors. If you're interested, e-mail Melissa Bacon or call her at 814-539-1889.

  • Be a FolkFest volunteer. Dozens of volunteers are needed before, during and after the festival, which takes place over Labor Day weekend each year.

  • Become a member of the JAHA Guild. The Guild is a special volunteer committee who helps arrange JAHA special events, including the Gala (usually held in April), the FolkFest Cash Bash (June), the AmeriServ Johnstown FolkFest, and other events as needed. Guild meetings are fun and informal, and members take duties according to their talents and interests. For more information about the Guild or to become a member, contact Patti Genovese at 539-1889 x309.
