  • Press coverage of 2010 festival -- This list isn't comprehensive, but here are some highlights of coverage that's appeared (with hotlinks where available) and things we know are coming!
    • Sunday, July 18, The Acoustic Hour with Anthony Frazier, 1160 WCCL, Indiana - Shelley Johansson, director of communications, was a guest on the show, playing festival music - Eilen Jewell, Los Straitjackets, The Weathered Road, and Mark Dignam were featured, along with Rising Regina. Anthony also interviewed a member of Rising Regina by phone. Click here to listen! Another festival preview show is scheduled for Sunday, August 1.
    • Friday, July 23 - "Music acts highlight festival," -- a preview article in the Daily American of Somerset.
    • Friday, July 23 - "Los Lobos headlining AmeriServ Flood City Music Festival," -- a brief preview from the Times-News of Cumberland, Md.
    • Wednesday, July 28 -- "3 Days of Music Set in Flood City," a column by Josh Mosse in the online version of the Indiana Gazette previewing the festival.
    • Thursday, July 29 - Forever radio, Johnstown -- Festival co-chairman Todd Wagner will be a guest during morning drivetime on Johnstown's Forever radio stations.
    • Sunday, August 1 - the Tribune-Democrat previews the festival.
    • Wednesday, August 4 -- Coverage in Our Town Magazine - Our Town will publish articles based on interviews with several festival artists, including Eilen Jewell, Eric Tessmer, Good Brother Earl, Los Straitjackets, and Robert Cray. We'll link them once they're up!
    • Thursday, August 5 - "Pittsburgh Today Live" on KDKA-TV - Todd Wagner, festival co-chairman, will be a guest on this TV show, which airs weekdays at 9:00 am. Mark Dignam, one of our 2010 performers, will be there to play as well!
    • Thursday, August 5 - The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review -- a festival preview article is planned, featuring an interview with Galactic.
    • Saturday, August 7 - WQED live broadcast -- As they have done for many years, the Pittsburgh public radio station WQED (which is also heard in Johnstown) will broadcast live from festival grounds from 1:00-5:00 pm on the Saturday of the festival.

  • Community Foundation for the Alleghenies to host a Community Celebration on Friday, Aug. 6 -- The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies is celebrating its 20th anniversary at the festival! The first 1,000 ticketed guests through the gates on Friday evening will receive a $5 "stock certificate" that you can "invest" with one of the area non-profit organizations exhibiting at the Community Mall, which will be located near the Bud Light Stage. If you like, you can make an additional donation to any of the non-profits via cash, check or credit card. The non-profits will cash in their "stock" at the end of the evening.   • Los Lobos announces August 3 release date for new CD, Tin Can Trust -- Los Lobos will release their first CD of new material in 4 years on August 3, just three days before they appear at our festival. As Rolling Stone once wrote, "This is what happens when 5 guys create a magical sound, then stick together for 30 years to see how far it can take them." Can't wait!


  • Camping information now available -- The festival is happy to be partnering with Cernic's Campground to offer camping accommodations, including shuttle service to the festival grounds. Click here for details.

  • AmeriServ Financial continues title sponsorship of the festival -- JAHA is grateful to AmeriServ for its continued support! AmeriServ has served as title sponsor of the event and its predecessor, the Johnstown FolkFest, since 1994.

    • Pursuits Magazine, summer issue-- The festival was featured in an article entitled "Three PA Music Festivals Strike a Hot Note With Fans." The magazine, which is the official tourism magazine of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, has a circulation of 200,000.

    • 1160 WCCL, Indiana, Sun., Aug. 9, and Sun., Aug. 16 -- The Acoustic Hour with Anthony Frazier airs from 9-10 am and features live guests; Aug. 9, Whiskey River Panhandlers (see a clip of them playing "Rollin' In My Sweet Baby's Arms," here); Aug. 16, Gerry Stanek (see a clip, here).
    • Forever Broadcasting, Tues., Aug. 11-- co-chair Ron Carnevali interviewed on Hot 92, 96 Key, Froggy 95, Rocky 99
    • Stories in Our Town Magazine, Aug. 12 -- This issue features interviews with Mike Mattison of The Derek Trucks Band and Scrapomatic, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Ruthie Foster, Seven Nations, Donna the Buffalo, Scott Blasey, Maddie Georgi, and some of the talented local acts on the bill.
    • The Tribune-Democrat, Johnstown, Sun., Aug. 16 -- -- Our local paper previews the festival's entertainment, and the food.
    • KDKA-TV, Pittsburgh; Thurs., Aug. 20-- Festival co-chairman Ron Carnevali was a guest on "Pittsburgh Today Live," the morning news-talk show on KDKA, Pittsburgh's CBS affiliate. Singer-songwriter Scott Blasey played as part of the show.
    • The Tribune-Democrat, Thurs, Aug. 20 -- An editorial, "Music festival a local tradition and a real bargain", as well as a special multimedia presentation, a videotaped interview of festival co-chairman Ron Carnevali.
    • Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Thurs., Aug 20 -- -- A festival preview about our eclectic lineup, featuring a Derek Trucks interview.
    • Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Thurs., Aug 20 -- A festival preview article, "Derek Trucks backs luck with hard work.".
    • City Paper, Pittsburgh, Thurs., Aug. 20 -- The festival makes CP's Short List.
    • 91.3fm WYEP, Pittsburgh; Fri., Aug. 21-- For the first time in 2009, this adult alternative public station broadcasted live from festival grounds, from 2-6 pm. Host Rosemary Welsch will interview Grace Potter, among others.
    • WJAC Channel 6, Fri., Aug. 21-- Our longtime television sponsor, WJAC, broadcasted their 5:00 pm news live from festival grounds.
