Welcome to the Johnstown Area Heritage Association (JAHA)! We are a non-profit organization that exists to showcase Johnstown's stories to the nation, preserving and interpreting the area's heritage through museums, historical collections and cultural programs. Now open--the Wagner-Ritter House & Garden! This house museum will interpret the domestic lives of the thousands of immigrants who toiled in "the shadow of the mills" in the 19th and early 20th centuries. A special focus of the museum will be the roles of women and children, whose weekly chore schedule is illustrated by the period postcards below.

JAHA museums include the Johnstown Flood Museum, the Frank & Sylvia Pasquerilla Heritage Discovery Center, and the Wagner-Ritter House & Garden; the Johnstown Children's Museum is currently under construction. In addition, JAHA produces the AmeriServ Johnstown FolkFest and a wide variety of special events. JAHA maintains an extensive archive of objects, photographs and documents that are significant to the history of Johnstown and the surrounding areas.
