The 6th Annual Johnstown Film Festival was held June 15-18, 2011. Below is the program for the event's Wednesday evening!
|
| | Wednesday, June 15 - Feature Night | On the first night of the Johnstown Film Festival, we show a feature that was made in Johnstown or has ties to the region. In 2011 we're pleased to spotlight Emulation, a feature film directed by Johnstown native and frequent festival participant Tom Getty. This evening will take place at 7:00 pm at the Johnstown Flood Museum; tickets are $5 at the door.
What if you could live life through a movie? This is what the Emulation Corp. promises Noah Wilson, but the movie is about to become more real than he ever expected. Framed for murder and marked for death, Noah finds himself the target of a nationwide manhunt -- and that's the least of his worries.
Filmmaker Tom Getty began writing short stories at age 8, and began making movies with a DV cam in the 8th grade. He has produced over six shorts, and written a dozen feature-length screenplays. A recent graduate of Pitt with a degree in communications, he is currently working on a book and several screenplays. His favorite films are Wonder Boys, American Graffiti, and The Fugitive. He'll join us for a Q&A session after the screening. |
