Community Kitchen

Johnstown-area non-profits and churches have been invited to participate in the Community Kitchen. Through this initiative, local non-profit organizations and churches are provided with a booth to vend food and drinks without paying a booth fee, so that they can raise funds for their programs.

JAHA is pleased to announce that the following organizations are taking part in the Community Kitchen for FolkFest 2005:

  • Beulah United Methodist Church -- Hot fudge sundaes

  • Crossroads Community Church -- Soft ice cream, monster cookies

  • Harvest of Hope Farm -- Corn on the cob

  • Moxham United Methodist Churches -- Apple dumplings with vanilla ice cream

  • Pennsylvania Highlands Community College -- Gobs

  • St. Mary's Antiochian Orthodox Church -- Grape leaves, salad boats, kibbee sandwiches, hummus, fruit salad, baklava

  • Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren -- Halupki, halushki, pierogies, sampler platters

We encourage all festivalgoers to support these fine organizations at FolkFest 2005.

  • 2005 is the second year for the Community Kitchen, and JAHA hopes to continue to grow the initiative in future years. If you're interested in this fundraising opportunity for future FolkFests, please contact Shelley Johansson at 814-539-1889 x 308.
