Peoples Natural Gas Park
The Tribune-Democrat will present the third annual edition of this ice festival at Peoples Natural Gas Park! The family-friendly event is free this year, and will feature ice sculptures, ice sculpting demonstrations, food vendors, live music, and kids’ activities. Alcoholic beverages will be available for sale, too — please bring your ID!
The one-day festival benefits the Tribune-Democrat’s Newspapers in Education program, which provides free newspapers, curriculum guides, special supplements and other educational materials to local schools.
The Tribune-Democrat is now seeking participants for a talent show! To enter, take a short video of your talent and post it to YouTube, using the hashtag #tribunetalent in the title. After Feb. 25, the public will have the opportunity to vote on the acts on the T-D’s website! The top five will be showcased at the Ice FunFest.
Schedule is as follows (and updates will be made):
11:30 am-6:00 pm: ice carving demonstrations, ice sculptures on display, food and beverage sales (currently confirmed food vendors include The Phoenix, Baker’s Loaf, Cob’s Kettle Corn)
11:30 am-4:00 pm: Kids’ activities by Macaroni Kid, Hogue’s Fun Factory, and Misty Haven Carriage
12:00-3:45 pm: Live music (Red Paint and Octane)
4:00-5:45 pm: Talent show featuring 5 finalists
