**THE OCT. 7 and 14 TOURS ARE NOW SOLD OUT!** Enjoy the the fall foliage and the beautiful landscapes of western and central Pennsylvania on our popular Ride the Rails Tour! Guests will have an opportunity to visit a variety of sites that are packaged together to present a view of the railroad city during its prime in the 19th century. In addition to the Altoona Railroaders Museum and the Horseshoe Curve, the historic home and grounds of Baker’s Mansion, an 1840s estate owned by Elias Baker, one of Blair County’s earliest iron makers. The tour will be topped off with Altoona’s crown jewel, The Boyer’s Candy Factory Outlet Store— home of the Mallo-cup.

Please call (814) 539-1889 or stop by the Heritage Discovery Center to book your trip. The booking deadline for each trip occurs two Fridays prior to the trip date; so for the Oct. 7 tour, deadline is Sept. 22; for the Oct. 14 tour, deadline is Sept. 29.

8:40 am – Guests arrive at Johnstown Passenger Train Station for 9 AM train
10:00 am – Train arrives in Altoona and Bus picks up passengers
10:15 am – Bus arrives at the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum
12:30 pm — Tour arrives at Boyer’s Candy Outlet
1:15 pm – Lunch at Altoona-area restaurant (not included in ticket price)
2:30 pm — Horseshoe Curve
3:45 pm – Baker’s Mansion Tour
4:45 pm – Arrive at Altoona Railroad Station for 5 PM train

The Ride the Rails Tour (general tour) is $70 for JAHA Members; $75 for non-members. Children aged 2-11 are $45 for JAHA Members; or $50 for non-members. The cost of lunch is not included.
