Welcome to the official site of the AmeriServ Johnstown FolkFest - one of the largest free music festivals in the nation! Check this site often for updates on FolkFest.
Labor Day weekend, September 2-4, 2005 - Johnstown, Pennsylvania
|
| | Support the FolkFest | The FolkFest features free admission, making it an affordable event for everyone. The Johnstown Area Heritage Association underwrites the event through sponsorships, and festivalgoers support it through purchasing festival scrip and festival merchandise, including T-shirts and buttons --a limited quantity of 2004 merchandise is still available at the gift shop of the Heritage Discovery Center. |
However, the event costs about $300,000 to produce, and JAHA is grateful to the many sponsors, businesses and individuals who help support the event through donations of cash, goods, services or time. There are a variety of ways you can be a part of Johnstown's biggest community event:
|
|

- Become a FolkFest sponsor. Businesses or individuals can sponsor performers, stages or areas of the FolkFest site -- a number of sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information, contact Donna Stromsdorfer at 814-539-1889 x307, or visit the Sponsorships section of this Web site.
- Become a member of JAHA. Depending on the level of membership you choose, you'll get a wide range of membership benefits -- including FREE admission to all our museums year-round. Click here for a downloadable membership application with detailed information about the membership levels and benefits for individuals and businesses.

- Purchase a VIP parking pass. The VIP parking lot is located along Washington Street between Walnut and Johns Streets, as seen on this downloadable map of the festival grounds. For a $60 contribution, VIP parkers may park in this special lot close to the festival grounds. You'll also receive a coupon good for a free beverage at any of the festival pubs and recognition in JAHA's annual report. We'll send out reminders about purchasing VIP parking passes about a month before the festival; if you'd like to be on that mailing list, contact Gwen Hartnett at 814-539-1889.
- Make a donation to the FolkFest Endowment Fund. This fund is administered by the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies Call the Community Foundation at 888-280-7741 for details.
- Become a FolkFest volunteer.
Hundreds of volunteers are needed before, during and after the festival -- it simply couldn't happen without them. We start registering volunteers about two months before the festival--if you're interested, contact Gwen Hartnett at 814-539-1889.
