The Johnstown Flood Museum and Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum are adopting winter opening hours beginning the week of Jan. 3. We will be open Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 am-5 pm, and Sun. noon-5 pm (closed Tuesday and Wednesday). Because Cambria County is currently experiencing high community spread of COVID-19, we are now requiring staff and visitors to wear masks (face shields alone are not adequate). Please visit the children’s museum COVID protocols page for more information specific to that museum. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Welcome!

Touring in the time of COVID

Special considerations for a challenging time.

This year has been difficult for all of us. We know the world is different now and you might be worried about visiting us during this difficult time. Rest assured, we have taken this crisis very seriously, and we are constantly thinking, making plans, and tweaking plans so that we at JAHA can keep our visitors and staff safe!

During COVID, our visitors and staff are required to wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines. We are following necessary protocols for reduced building occupancy as well as enhanced cleaning and sanitizing procedures. However, if you would like to schedule a private tour, we can do that — if you would like us to provide you with some lessons for your class, we can do that too. We are able to provide virtual tours of our buildings as well.

We have possibilities to offer you, just give us a call and we can discuss how to provide you with a safe and comfortable touring experience! Contact Angela Ashby, Director of Visitor Services, for more about all the wonderful opportunities JAHA has to offer, at (814)539-1889 x311. Welcome!
