August 7: Water and Weather

Our young scientists will explore why water and weather are so important and how different weather patterns happen. Young scientists will assist in hands on learning experiments to explore the topics of clouds, thunderstorms, and water filtration. Young scientists will make a weathervane to take home.

August 16: Plants

In this lesson, our young scientists will be taking a look at how plants grow and survive as well as what it means to be “native.” Young scientists will assist in hands on learning experiments to explore the topics of chlorophyll, root systems, and how plants breathe. Young scientists will create a biodegradable planter and plant a bean plant to take home.

August 20: Rocks, Fossils, and Mountains

In this lesson, our young scientists will explore the earth and how it was formed. Scientists will assist in hands on learning experiments to explore the topics of mountains, glaciers, and excavation. Young scientists will create a fossil to take home.

August 31: Eat the Rainbow and Food Science

Our most exciting topic yet! Young scientists will explore healthy eating and then do some sciencey cooking! Young scientists will try their hand at making solar s’mores (weather permitting), butter, and ice cream!
