Through the Museums for All program, recipients of any type of food assistance (such as WIC or SNAP) can get admission to our museums for $3. It’s a popular and needed program — in fact, so far this year we’ve had 788 guests using Museums for All. We extended Museums for All admissions to our popular Halloween Hullabaloo event last month, and were pleased to welcome 65 Museums for All guests. So for the first time this year, we’re offering a Sundaes with Santa session for those who qualify for Museums for All, on Sun., Dec. 8 at 10:00 am — tickets are $3, and adults are free for the Santa visit (adult museum admission is $3 if your family would like to visit the museum afterward).

We’d also like to spread the word that the Heritage Discovery Center and the Johnstown Flood Museum are drop-off locations for Toys for Tots, a program of the United States Marine Corps Reserve that distributes Christmas gifts to kids whose parents cannot afford them. We encourage our guests to bring in new, unwrapped toys to donate anytime before December 17 (this is our second collection box — our first was picked up on December 2). If you bring a toy to the December 1 or 8 Sundaes for Santa sessions, you’ll get a free gift! And anyone who brings a toy to the November Last Friday will receive a ticket for 50% off your first drink.

Here’s the full rundown of holiday events, all at the Heritage Discovery Center. For complete details on each (and digital tickets where available), visit our events page!
