Please see the calendar below for the current operating schedules of the Johnstown Flood Museum, Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum. The Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum is open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday only; the Johnstown Flood Museum is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Visitors to the Johnstown Children’s Museum (which is located on the third floor of the Heritage Discovery Center) are encouraged to RSVP 539-1889 before your visit, as we are limiting the number of families in the museum at any given time — see the children’s museum COVID information page for details on our scheduling and safety protocol. In accordance with PA guidelines, visitors and employees must wear masks, and are asked to observe social distancing while in our facilities. We are taking additional steps to ensure safety, such as sanitizing surfaces frequently. Welcome!

JAHA congratulates Angel Ashby, our new director of visitor services!

JAHA congratulates Angel Ashby, our new director of visitor services!

Angel Ashby is our new director of visitor services! She has been with us on a part-time basis as our tour and visitor services coordinator, stepping up to a full-time position recently after the retirement of Kim Baxter.

In her new position, Angel will oversee museum operations generally, as well as group tours.

“I’m excited about bringing more of what JAHA offers to the forefront, working with our historian and the rest of the staff to share with the community,” Angel says.

A native of Johnstown, she holds a BA in history from Pitt-Johnstown and has always had an interest in our region’s heritage and highlighting all our area has to offer, both to people who live here and visitors.

Please join us in welcoming Angel to her new position!
