JAHA museums adopt new winter opening hours: now open Mondays, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Beginning January 2, the Johnstown Area Heritage Association is adopting a new winter opening schedule for the Johnstown Flood Museum and Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum. Instead of being closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, as in past winters, the museums will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Hours will be as follows:

Mondays: 10:00 am-5:00 pm
Tuesdays: closed
Wednesdays: closed
Thursdays: 10:00 am-5:00 pm
Fridays: 10:00 am-5:00 pm
Saturdays: 10:00 am-5:00 pm
Sundays: noon-5:00 pm

“We’ve gotten feedback from our members and other visitors that Monday is a good day for museum visits, because of federal holidays and school vacation days,” said Deb Winterscheidt, JAHA development director. “We hope that this change better accommodates our guests during the winter season.”

Also, because Cambria County is currently experiencing high community spread of COVID-19, we are now requiring staff and visitors to wear masks (face shields alone are not adequate) in accordance with CDC recommendations. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!
