The Johnstown Flood Museum and Heritage Discovery Center/Johnstown Children’s Museum are open Tues.-Sat. from 10 am-5 pm, and Sun. noon-5 pm (no appointments required).  Please visit the children’s museum COVID protocols page for more information specific to that museum. Recently the Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau came to the Heritage Discovery Center to see the current temporary exhibition, Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race, which is on loan from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum through April 27. They interviewed Richard Burkert, JAHA president, who gave an overview of the exhibition, and also explained its relevance to themes covered in our permanent exhibition, America: Through Immigrant Eyes.
