Rooftop Garden renovations begin

The Rooftop Garden, part of the Johnstown Children’s Museum, will be closed for about a month for renovations and improvements! We’re excited about the opportunity to refurbish this wonderful outdoor exhibit that is designed to educate kids about Pennsylvania native plants, just as the museum is coming up on its 10th anniversary next year.

The scope of the project includes:

  • Replacing the plant boxes
  • Renovating and repainting the wooden deck
  • Reorganizing the exhibits to show three Pennsylvania habitats: a forest, a meadow, and wetlands
  • Adding hanging boxes

Funding sources for the project include the Laurel Highlands Conservation Landscape Initiative, the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, and others.
