To commemorate the 135th Anniversary of the 1889 Johnstown Flood, join JAHA and the National Park Service on a bus tour tracing the flood’s path. Park Rangers Doug Bosley and Greg Zaborowski will be your guides as you travel from South Fork to Johnstown and meet important flood figures on the way, including Victor Heiser, Horace Rose, Clara Barton, and others telling the story of the flood as they experienced it. Come learn about this pivotal event in Johnstown’s history and the people it impacted.

Please plan to arrive at the Johnstown National Flood Memorial’s Visitors Center no later than noon. There will be an orientation, followed by a viewing of the National Park Service-produced film, “Black Friday,” which visually recreates the flood. After the film, guests will travel by bus along the path of the flood into Johnstown with a stop Central Park and Grandview Cemetery before making the return trip to South Fork (expected arrival around 4:00 pm).

Participants on the tour will be provided with a commemorative booklet exploring the history of the flood.

Tickets are $32 for JAHA members, $35 for those who are not yet members.
